More people in the United States (and globally) have a mobile phone than an internet-connected PC. In fact, 262 million Americans now use mobile.

Texting is the fastest growing medium for communication. In June 2005, 7 billion texts were sent and/or received per month. In June 2008, 76 billion text messages were either sent or received in the United States per month (The New York Times, 9/21/08).
